Lumsden is located in a junction approximately 1 hour drive from Queenstown, Te Anau, Invercargill and Gore.

Mollies cabin is only five minutes walk from the Oreti river. You will be surrounded by a large number of top New Zealand trout rivers all within easy driving distance. 

Mataura, Aparima, Waikaia, Eyre, Mavora, Waiau  to name just a few.
 Railway History
Anyone who enjoys history especially in relation to trains will enjoy visitng the Lumsden railway station.  The station is much like a train museum with old trains being restored and on display.
Kids playground
 A large and well equiped playground located in the Lumsden township within a short walk from Mollies cabin.

Lumsden has it's own golf course, a flat easy walking 9-hole course that is well worth a visit.

Surrounded by farmland, this course gains its degree of difficulty from well placed trees.

The greens will provide a variety of skill requirements and the well placed shot will be rewarded.


 Queenstown is 1 hour drive north of Lumsden, an easy location for day trips.  It is a growing region and caters for any adventure or activity a tourist might desire with beautiful ski fields to cater for fun in the winter.   Located on beautiful lake Wakatiu water sports is also abundant along with many quieter persuits.  
 Te Anau
 Te Anau is the gateway town to Fiordland most famous for Milford sound.  With a glow worm tour, boat rides and plenty of tramping opportunities Te Anau is worth a visit.

 Plenty of attractions with museums, Parks, horse riding, shopping, Oreti beach and Bluff.  Also plenty to do for motorcycle and car enthusiasts.
